A single platform for all implant diameters allows the use of any abutment with any implant diameter, from 3.3mmd to 6mmd, with an option for wide platform abutments for 5mmd and 6mmd implants.
In Alpha-Bio Tec's Platform Shifting system, the size of the implant platform is downsized in order to provide more space for peri-implant soft tissue and to increase blood supply to soft tissue around the implant platform.
