DMD, MD, PhD, Specialist in Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Leiser received his DMD degree from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel in 2004, and completed his PhD on the subject of gene expression and hypoxic signaling pathways in 2005. He finished his MD studies in 2018 at the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University, Israel. In 2009, Dr. Leiser received the Itay Sharon Rambam Atidim Grant and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the cancer and vascular research laboratory headed by Prof. Israel Vlodavsky at the Technion in Haifa, Israel. In 2011, he was one of the researchers to receive the prestigious Wolf Foundation award for outstanding doctoral studies. 

Dr. Leiser is an attending surgeon in the Department of oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel. He is the head of the laboratory for oral cancer research and previously served as supervisor to MSc students in basic science research and MD thesis. 

Today, Dr. Leiser specializes in surgical oncology and surgical and dental rehabilitation in the maxillofacial region using PSI (patient-specific implants) technology. Dr. Leiser has served as a lead editor for international peer-reviewed journals and has published more than 30 scientific and clinical papers. He has served as a chairman and lecturer at several international and national conferences on basic sciences, as well as professional maxillofacial surgery and oncology conferences. In 2014, Dr. Leiser was elected treasurer of the Israeli Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and today serves as its secretary.
